Summary Judgment- Middlesex County Superior Court

1/20/2012
Davern v. Harrah’s Casino
In Davern, plaintiff was injured while walking through the revolving door at Harrah’s Casino. Plaintiff attributed her accident to an improperly maintained revolving door and slippery marble floor. As a result of her fall, plaintiff fractured her right femur requiring surgery and lengthy impatient rehabilitation. Plaintiff was unable to regain mobility and has had to use a walker to ambulate since the time of her fall.

At the close of discovery, Reena Shah moved for summary judgment arguing that plaintiff could not prove that Harrah’s was negligent or that the revolving door was dangerous or defective. Judge Vincent LeBlon agreed with Harrah’s arguments and granted Ms. Shah’s motion for summary judgment.
